What Is Rate My Voice?
You hear your voice from the inside; everyone else hears it from the outside, and the two versions don't match. Rate My Voice closes that gap: record half a minute of normal talking and the analyzer scores the version other people hear — clarity, confidence, energy, pace and engagement, each on a 0-100 scale with notes on what moved the number.
Think of it as a pre-flight check for anything spoken: the pitch you give tomorrow, the podcast you record tonight, the interview you've been rehearsing in the shower. Thirty seconds of test audio tells you whether you're racing, mumbling, or landing exactly where you want to be.
It runs in this tab, on any device with a mic, with nothing to install and nothing to pay. Scores are feedback, not grades — most fluent speakers sit in the 60-80 band, and the tips under each score are where the actual improvement comes from.
Everyone Sounds Different on Recording — Here's the Proof
Getting an honest read on your own voice has always been the hard part
Subjective opinions
Ask a friend and you'll get a shrug and a "you sound fine" — kind, useless, and impossible to act on.
Expensive coaching
Coaches give real answers but bill by the hour, with a waitlist between you and the feedback.
Slow feedback loops
The night before the pitch — exactly when you need a check — nobody's available to listen.
Self-recording blind spot
And judging your own playback is famously unreliable: the voice sounds wrong to you, so the verdict feels wrong too.
A Second Opinion That Takes 30 Seconds
The analyzer measures what listeners actually receive: five scores, the same yardstick every time, and specific pointers on what to adjust. It won't replace a good coach — but at free, instant and available at 11 PM, it removes every excuse for walking in unprepared.
How to Rate Your Voice
Record, score, adjust — in under a minute
Record Your Voice
Talk normally for 15-60 seconds: introduce yourself, answer a practice question, read a paragraph. No script required.
AI Voice Analysis
Signal analysis measures your pacing, volume dynamics and pitch movement while the language model evaluates delivery.
Get Scores & Tips
Five scores land with targeted notes — adjust one habit, re-record, and watch the number respond.
The Five Things Being Measured
What a listener hears, broken into numbers
Clarity
Whether every word arrives intact — the articulation and precision behind "sorry, what was that?"
Confidence
The steadiness signal: even volume, settled pitch, no trailing off at the ends of sentences.
Energy
How alive the voice reads — the difference between informing someone and talking at them.
Pace
Speed and its consistency; the sweet spot where listeners stop rewinding.
Engagement
Expressiveness and musicality — whether people lean in or start checking their phone.
Privacy-first
Recordings are analyzed and discarded — nothing kept, nothing published, nothing to worry about.

Rehearse answers aloud, track the confidence number across takes, walk in calibrated.
Language Learners
Practicing a language? The clarity and pace scores tell you if you're actually understandable.
Voice Actors
A/B different reads and keep the objective numbers alongside your own ear.
Anyone Curious
You've probably never heard yourself the way others do. That alone is worth 30 seconds.
What Users Say
What the check changed for them
“My pace score was the tell — I'd been racing through client updates for years. One habit change, and the next meeting had people actually repeating back my points instead of my sentences.”
“I recorded my interview answers six evenings in a row. Watching the confidence score climb each night beat any pep talk — the real interview felt like a rerun.”
“Turns out my "energetic" is everyone else's "exhausting." Free tool, 30 seconds, ego slightly bruised, delivery much better.”
Voice Check Questions
Before you press record
- What is Rate My Voice?
It's an AI voice check that runs in your browser: record 15-60 seconds of ordinary speech and receive scores for clarity, confidence, energy, pace and engagement, each with practical tips. No download, no account, no cost — it works on any device with a microphone.
- What's the catch with free?
There isn't one — analysis is free for good. Guests get 1 check per day, 3 per day with a free account, which is enough to build a daily rehearsal habit.
- What is the score based on?
Two layers: acoustic analysis of the recording (speed, volume range, pitch variation) plus a language model's read of your delivery. The blend produces the five scores.
- How much audio does it need?
15-60 seconds is the sweet spot. Talk the way you'd talk — improvised answers beat recited scripts, because the analyzer is judging your natural delivery.
- What counts as a good number?
Everyday speakers cluster between 60 and 80; 80+ is a strong, broadcast-adjacent delivery. Numbers are a compass, not a report card — the tips are the part worth reading.
- Does it judge singing too?
No — speaking only. Singing gets its own tool (Rate My Singing) with pitch, rhythm, tone and expression scoring.
- Is my recording stored?
No. The recording is analyzed in the moment and not kept on our servers — nothing to leak, share or sell.
- Is this a medical assessment?
Not at all. It measures presentation delivery, not vocal health. If your voice hurts or sounds hoarse, that's a conversation for a doctor, not an app.
